منتدى الكتاب العربي موقع غير ربحي يعتمد منذ نشأته في مارس 1998 على العمل التطوعي من بعض أعضائه وهو مكرس لتعزيز التفاهم المتبادل بين الثقافات المختلفة، ذلك المجال الذى من المدهش أنه لا يحظى بتغطية كافية، رغم التقدم غير المسبوق فى الاتصالات. ونحن نؤمن بأن الأدب، والفن بشكل عام، هو أفضل قناة يمكن عن طريقها توصيل هذا الفهم المتبادل بأسلوب يتخطى القوالب التقليدية المكررة.

تهتم بوابة الشعراء بجمع كل ما قيل من الشعر العربي القديم والحديث الفصيح والعامي مقسما بحسب العصور الزمانية بداية بالعصر الجاهلي ثم المخضرمين مرورا بالعصر الاموي ثم العباسي والفاطمي والمملوكي والعثماني ونهاية بالعصر الحديث وما يعيش بيننا من الشعراء المعاصرين وما سيلحق بنا من شعراء.

This Minor helps graduates to work at media institutions, where they practice writing essays, reports and other types of writing to T.V., newspapers. etc. This Minor also develop graduates’ skills and expertise, then prepare them to work in cultural associations and centers, where they put their theoretical experience in practice.

AL-BAB has been in existence since the early days of the internet. Originally intended to be a website about Yemen, it began in February 1998 as "Yemen Gateway". Its web address, al-bab.com, alluded to Bab al-Yemen (also known as "al-bab"), the famous gateway leading into the old city of Sana’a. At the same time, this choice of name also highlighted the site’s purpose, which was to provide an electronic gateway to information about Yemen.
