LibKey Nomad is a useful tool for accessing full-text resources directly from various research websites. Here’s how you can set it up on your web browser:

How to Set Up LibKey Nomad

1. Choose Your Browser:

  • LibKey Nomad is available for popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and more. Make sure you are using one of these browsers.

2. Install the Extension:

  • Go to the LibKey Nomad installation page.
  • Choose your browser from the list.
  • Click the "Install" button, which will redirect you to the appropriate extension store (Chrome Web Store for Chrome, etc.).
  • Click “Add to [Your Browser]” and confirm the installation.

 

 

 

3. Select Your Institution:

  • After installation, you’ll be prompted to select your library or institution.
  • Start typing the name of your university or institution and select it from the dropdown list.
  • This step links LibKey Nomad with your institution's library resources.

 

4. Start Using LibKey Nomad:

  • Once set up, you’ll notice a LibKey Nomad icon on supported websites like PubMed, Wikipedia, and others.
  • If an article is available through your library, LibKey Nomad will provide a one-click access button to the full text.

Download PDF: The Library has this item and you can instantly download the PDF full text in one click.

Article Link: The Library has this item and links directly to the article page, where you can access the full text.

Manuscript PDF and Manuscript Link: An open-access version of this article is available for free online.

Access Options: The Library may not have the full text of the article immediately available, but you may request it via Resource Sharing (Interlibrary Loan).

 

Tips:

  • Ensure you are logged into your library's network or VPN if required for off-campus access.
  • Look for the LibKey icon on supported websites to download PDFs or view articles quickly.

This extension is a great way to streamline your research process and access materials without navigating multiple login pages.
